Downloading Files

Add a Task/Download File

To download a file, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Add button on the toolbar.

  2. Input the URL of the file that you wish to download. The URL can be a general URL, BT Torrent address, or mldonkey address.

  3. Click OK.

Upload torrent files

If you have BT torrent files, you can upload them to the default directory /HOME/mldonkey/torrents/seeded.

To upload BT torrent files, please follow the steps below.

  • Click the Upload button on the toolbar and the dialog box will appear. If Google Gears is installed, you can drag files to the browser.

  • Select one or more torrent files that you want to upload and click Open (or double click on one).
  • The uploading page pops up to show detailed information about the upload.

The following table identifies the fields shown in the upload dialog.

Field Description
Operation Performs operations on the uploading file. In Google Gears, it allows the user to delete, stop, and resume the upload.
File Name Displays the name of the file
Progress Displays the progress of the download. You should refresh manually to see the latest progress.
File Size Displays the size of the file.
Uploaded Displays the directory of the uploaded file.
Target Displays the destination directory that the upload will be uploaded into.
Time Displays the total time the upload requires.

Pause a task

To pause a task, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the task you wish to pause.
  2. Click the quick access Pause button on the toolbar.

Restart a task

To restart a task, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the task you wish to restart.
  2. Click the quick access Start button on the toolbar.

Remove a task

To remove a task, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the task you wish to remove.
  2. Click the quick access Clear button on the toolbar.

View Detail Information

To view detail information, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the task you wish to view.
  2. Double click it or click the quick access Info button on the toolbar.
  3. The Detail Info page pops up.

There are two tabs: Peers and General

The following table identifies the fields shown in the Peers tab.

Field Description
Num Shows the number of peer hosts
IP Address Shows the IP address of the peer hosts
Name Shows the name of the peer hosts
Client Software Shows the client software
Upload Shows the number of files uploaded by the peer hosts
Download Shows the number of files downloaded by the peer hosts
The above table only shows FileTP relevant information. For BT or mldonkey tasks, the information shown here will be varied in accordance with the different protocols. Below is an example of FileTP task.

The following table identifies the fields shown in the General tab.

Field Description
Network Shows the protocol that the network address belongs to.
Downloaded/Size Shows how many bytes have been downloaded
Priority Shows the priority of the task.
User Shows the current user of the InteractiveSharing NAS system.
Group Shows the name of the group.
Strategy
Source Shows the number of sources for the task
Chunks Shows the number of chunks
Chunk Size Shows the total size of chunks
The above table only shows FileTP relevant information. For BT or mldonkey tasks, the information shown here will be varied in accordance with the different protocols.

View Completed Tasks

By default, completed tasks will be saved in /HOME/mldonkey/incoming/files or HOME/mldonkey/incoming/directories.
